General information where this General Composite knowledge level test/quizzes comes from
This General knowledge assessment test is created for those working to repair Advanced composites in Commercial Aviation and other industries.
The assessment tests follow the active ATA/IATA/SAE Commercial Aircraft Composite Repair Committee (C.A.C.R.C.) task group.
The assessment test is set up according to the principles of the S.A.E. noted in the
Aerospace Information Report A.I.R. 4938-PART  I
This curriculum is a General Composite Structural Bonded Repair Curriculum with 17 modules approved by E.A.S.A., supported by the FAA., and revered in Boeing and Airbus manuals.

This S.A.E.- AIR4938 document contains the minimum required training hours for a technician to work as approved staff aerospace and maintenance centres M.R.O.s.

The S.A.E. mentioned above and (C.A.C.R.C.) charter, Commercial Aircraft Composite Repair Committee (C.A.C.R.C.), was founded in 1991.
The C.A.C.R.C. was founded by this elearning platform owner/founder “Bert Groenewoud” (K.L.M. Instructor) and Henk Lodewijk (Former Composite Engineer)
Bert and Henk worked for K.L.M. Engineering & Maintenance and developed K.L.M. composite training standards for maintenance and repair technician training to save cost.
Today, this website owner/founder  Bert Groenewoud is still attending the currently held virtual meetings of the C.A.C.R.C. charter task groups with members of Boeing and Airbus, K.L.M./Airfrance, E.A.S.A., F.A.A., Lufthansa Techniek and training, Delta Airlines, Air New Zealand, Technical UniversiteAmsterdam, M.R.O.s Part 145 Companies.

Our goal was then, in 1991, to set up these standards and reduce the cost of commercial aircraft structure and its components training.

The current S.A.E.- C.A.C.R.C. task groups have standardized commercial aviation maintenance and Composite Repair from 1991 until now.

  • Repair Materials task group,
  • Repair Techniques, the task group
  • Training task group
  • Analytical Repair Techniques task group
  • Design task group (Boeing, Airbus and other O.E.M.s)
  • NDI/NDT Inspection task group
  • Airline Inspection & Ramp Repair Conditions task group
  • Procedures task group (New added task group in April 2021)
We encourage everyone to share knowledge and skills about advanced composites and to join one of these task groups in the field you know best.
Please get in touch with us, and we will refer you to the board S.A.E. Composite Repair Committee (C.A.C.R.C.) to become part of the task group of your choice.
